Best Vegan Belgian Waffles
Ingredients #
- 2 Tbsp flax seed
- 5 Tbsp water
- 1 1/2 cups almond milk
- 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 cups wheat flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp coconut sugar
- 5 Tbsp butter or coconut oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions #
- Preheat waffle iron.
- Combine flax and water in a small bowl to make a flax egg, set aside
- Combine milk and apple cider vinegar in a measuring cup, set aside
- Add all dry ingredients to a medium bowl and mix
- Melt margarine and slowly add milk mixture to it, whisking vigorously while you pour it in
- Add flax mixture and vanilla and mix
- Add wet ingredients to dry and mix, a few lumps is fine
- Cook in waffle iron
